We are in year 3 now of clearing Himalayan Blasam from the Park. With the support of Bradford Council, this season we have sprayed the boundary of the Park to prevent the seeds from ‘leaping’ into the park.
It took only 2 hours and 8 volunteers to clear the visible balsam this time around and it was fantastic to see the difference from last year. Many of the empty areas where balsam had taken over had regrown with plants we expect to see in a Park such as this.
We may need one more Balsam Bash this season just to clean up the final few stands.
What an effort!
